Kumai and the forest river
Transfer to Kumai and board the private klotok with its local guide and crew. Cruise towards Tanjung Puting along the Sekonyer river route, watching the banks for proboscis monkeys and birdlife. A guided Tanjung Harapan visit is proposed if open and compatible with the park schedule. Dinner and overnight aboard.

Orangutans and forest walks
Continue by river for guided visits proposed at Pondok Tanggui and Camp Leakey, combining walks from the landing points with time for orangutan observation. Some observation areas use staff-managed supplementary feeding linked to the park’s rehabilitation history. Visitors observe only. The visit order follows current park access and schedules; return to the boat for meals and the second overnight.

Downriver to Pangkalan Bun
Enjoy a final morning on the river before cruising back to Kumai. After lunch aboard, disembark and transfer to the Pangkalan Bun hotel. The overnight leaves a buffer between the cruise and the onward flight.

- This route combines forest habitat with observation areas associated with orangutan rehabilitation and supplementary feeding. Animals may include rehabilitated orangutans and their descendants as well as wild individuals; sightings and attendance at feeding areas are not guaranteed.
- Visitors do not feed, bait, touch or handle orangutans. Follow park and guide instructions on distance and access, and advise the team if unwell before a wildlife visit.
- The sample uses covered-deck sleeping, not a private air-conditioned cabin. The quotation confirms the named boat, passenger capacity, bathroom, cooling, charging and luggage arrangements; no boat inventory is held.
- Boarding and shore visits involve steps and uneven ground. Share mobility needs, child ages and dietary requirements. River conditions, weather and park access can change the visit order or require a revised programme.
- Provide travel dates, flights, party size, rooming and budget. Park fees and visitor categories, applicable taxes, availability, payment and cancellation terms are specified in the written quotation.
