Arrive in North Sumatra
Meet at Kualanamu airport and travel by private vehicle to Bukit Lawang. Settle into the lodge and meet the local team for a trek briefing. This arrival day requires a flight early enough for the onward road journey; a late arrival needs an additional Medan night and a revised programme.

- Day 02
Into the Leuser forest
Walk into the Gunung Leuser forest with an English-speaking local trekking guide, looking into the canopy for Sumatran orangutans and other forest life. Take a packed lunch and return to the lodge on foot. The guide selects the permitted trail and pace around the group and the conditions.

A second day beneath the canopy
Spend another guided day on a suitable forest trail, with time for birdlife, plants and patient wildlife observation. A second day allows a different pace and route without requiring an overnight camp. Return to the same lodge for the evening; any shorter alternative is agreed with the guide.

Return to Medan
Leave Bukit Lawang after breakfast and return by road to the Medan hotel. Keep the rest of the day free. This overnight separates the forest transfer from the departure flight.

Include in the base quote
- Four accommodation nights: three in Bukit Lawang and one in Medan, on a double or twin sharing basis with breakfast.
- Private air-conditioned vehicle and driver for the airport and intercity transfers listed; fuel and parking for those services.
- Two private guided forest days with an English-speaking local trekking guide; required park admission for the agreed route and visitor category.
- Packed lunches on days 2 and 3. The quotation identifies drinking-water provision and any guide-assistant requirements.

- International and domestic flights, visas and travel insurance.

- Bukit Lawang has a history of orangutan rehabilitation. Some animals encountered near visitor routes may be habituated or formerly rehabilitated; this is not a promise of encounters only with unhabituated wild orangutans. Sightings are never guaranteed.
- Observe from the distance set by park guidance and the local guide. No feeding, baiting, touching or close-contact photographs are part of the programme. Advise the team if unwell before entering orangutan habitat.
- Forest trails can be steep, muddy and slippery. Share fitness, mobility needs and child ages before quoting; route length and access depend on current park conditions and weather.
- Lodge facilities, room types, local access, guide arrangements and flight timing are confirmed in the quotation. No accommodation or park inventory is held for this sample.
- Provide travel dates, flights, party size, rooming and budget. The written quotation identifies applicable fees and taxes, availability, payment and cancellation terms; only the accepted scope forms part of the booking.
