Allow enough arrival time for the road journey from Kualanamu. A late flight requires an additional arrival night and a revised programme.
Forest trails can be steep, muddy and slippery. Agree trek length, fitness requirements and lodge access before confirming.
Bukit Lawang has a rehabilitation history; some orangutans near visitor routes are habituated or formerly rehabilitated. Sightings are not guaranteed, and feeding or close contact is not part of the visit.
Follow the guide’s wildlife distance instructions and advise the team if unwell before entering orangutan habitat. Overnight camping, rafting and tubing are outside the sample route.
